Burstow launches revamped volunteering drive

12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Fri 19th Oct 2007

Local MP Paul Burstow showed his support for Sutton Volunteering Centre, by helping to launch their new volunteer recruitment drive.

Sutton Volunteering Centre is the lucky recipient of a substantial National Lottery award of £9,300 to produce a new range of publicity material to support volunteer recruitment, to design information packs for potential funders and partners and to re-design its website.

Paul Burstow launched this new material at the charity's AGM, and took the opportunity to congratulate the service on the crucial service they provide to the community.

Commenting on the event Paul Burstow said:

"Sutton would grind to a halt were it not for volunteers. There are such a wide range of ways people can put their time and talent to work as a volunteer. I hope that this new volunteering recruitment drive will encourage more people to participate in community-based projects."
