To the House of Commons.
The Petition of residents of Sutton and Cheam and users of First Capital
Connect services, and others,
Declares that the ongoing disruption to the First Capital Connect service
travelling into London needs to stop; timetables have been severely
reduced due to mismanagement by First Capital Connect, which has not
employed enough drivers to cover the shifts needed; commuters are
having to find alternate routes into work and school, adding considerable
time and expense to their daily journeys;
The petitioners therefore request that the House of Commons call on Her
Majesties Government to recognise that due to this gross lack of
competence, that the current disruption to services be treated as a breach
of the franchise and that the Secretary of State for Transport serves
immediate notice to terminate the franchise agreement with First Capital
Connect and offer it to a more capable organisation.
And the Petitioners remain, etc.
Even if you've already signed this petition, you can use the printable petition sheet to collect more signatures from your friends and neighbours.
You could go door to door on your street or pass the sheet around at a local event. Good places to leave a few copies include shops, pubs, libraries, and post offices - but don't forget to collect them and send them back to us.
When complete, please return (as soon as possible) to: Paul Burstow MP, Sutton Liberal Democrats, 234 Gander Green Lane, Cheam SM3 9QF..
