In May 2010, Paul was appointed Minister of State for Care Services. His areas of responsibility include adult social care, mental health, learning disability, care for the elderly, support for carers and long term care reform. Paul has a long record of interest in social care and involvement in health and care issues, from being appointed to chair Sutton Council's Disability Forum in 1991, to being Shadow Secretary of State for Health from 2003-2005. He has also been a member of the House of Commons Health Select Committee since July 2005. Working tirelessly to make a difference to health and social care services and the people that use them, Paul has made many achievements throughout his career so far.
