The Benhill Crescent Horticultural Society enjoyed a bumper crop of entries at its Autumn Show at Strawberry Lodge last weekend (12 Sept). Over 300 entries ranging from fruit and veg, to craft work and photos, to cakes, bread and jams were on show.
Local MP, Paul Burstow, was the Society's guest of honour presenting the prizes.
Show Secretary, Jim Clements, said "We've seen a real surge in interest this year with many people entering for the first time. The show was a great success. We hope this will encourage others to join our society and learn about growing their own food as well as participating in the fun activities that the society offers its' members"
Paul Burstow MP said, "Thanks to Jim and all the other volunteers involved the Show has enjoyed a bumper crop of entries. Its great to see more people growing their own food. Its good for your health and for your bank balance."
