Dr Vince Cable joined Paul Burstow and local business leaders for breakfast in Sutton Salvation Army Centre
MP for Sutton and Cheam, Paul Burstow, today hosted a breakfast for members of the local business community with the Liberal Democrat Shadow Chancellor Vince Cable.
Over coffee and croissants at Sutton Salvation Army centre, Dr Cable shared his analysis of the budget and the economic situation. There was then a question time when the audience, of local business leaders ranging from shopkeepers to accountants, were able to put their questions to Dr Cable who is widely regarded for his foresight on economic matters.
Speaking after the meeting Paul Burstow MP said:
'Vince Cable is one of the most well-respected and authoritative figures in our national debate about the economy. This morning, as ever, he has been talking much needed sense; something which our country and government desperately needs.
'Our local businesses are feeling the strain at the moment, but myself and those at Sutton Council are doing everything we can to help the business community in our area weather the current economic storm.'
