Sutton and Cheam MP, Paul Burstow, is backing a local cross party review of recent changes to the waste collection service, including the Garden Waste service.
The review will involve both Liberal Democrat and Conservative councillors. Both parties on the council had signed up to the changes to the waste collection service earlier this year and have agreed to take stock after the new service has been in place for three months.
Commenting Paul Burstow MP said: "I welcome this initiative by the Council. I know from my mailbag that there is a lot of concern about the change to the garden waste service. Armed with all those letters from residents I have been lobbying council leaders to take a careful look at the practical effect of the change.
"When the Council agreed to change its waste collection service it did so with Conservative and Liberal Democrat support. So now both Parties should work together, look carefully at the evidence, and listen to local residents."
