Paul Burstow, Liberal Democrat MP for Sutton and Cheam, has today expressed concern over plans to reduce the number of seats on trains going through Worcester Park Station. His comments come following a meeting with South West Trains, who are bidding for a new contract to run local services.
Mr Burstow commented:
'Cutting back the number of seats on South West Trains means that more people boarding the train at Worcester Park will find standing room only.
'More standing means that the train will be even less comfortable than it is now. This is a decision I hope will be fully investigated before the new rail franchise is let.'
