Sutton and Cheam MP Paul Burstow has welcomed the news that Transport for London has gone back on its decision to cut out Cheam and Worcester Park from the Croydon to Heathrow Airport bus route.
Paul Burstow MP lobbied TfL against their proposals to slash the number of stops in the Borough when they replace the 726 with the X26 express service. However, following a consultation exercise on the future of the bus route TFL have announced they will retain the bus stops at Cheam Broadway, North Cheam (Queen Victoria) and Worcester Park Station.
Paul Burstow commented:
"This is good news for local users of the 726 service, especially those living in Cheam and Worcester Park.
"I welcome the fact that Transport for London has listened to the concerns of local people and gone back on its plans for the whole scale slashing of stops in the area."
