Commenting on the Government's contract with a private firm to undertake diagnostic tests, Liberal Democrat Shadow Health Secretary, Paul Burstow MP, said:
"The Government's top-down and heavy-handed approach to this contract has meant that NHS scanners have been left idle whilst a mobile scanner is in use in the hospital car park. This is crazy logic, a waste of taxpayers' money and doesn't guarantee continuity of care for the patient.
"It is time the Government published all the results from its monitoring of the Alliance Medical contract.
"Ministers should be honest about the complaints, and start listening to the concerns of frontline staff."
