Tory plans on health, unveiled at their Party conference today, are big on rhetoric but low on genuine ideas, the Liberal Democrats said today.
The Tory 'Right to Choose' policy was also attacked as a "gimmick in search of a blank cheque". Whilst Tory ideas on dentists were condemned as "inadequate".
Paul Burstow MP, Liberal Democrat Shadow Health Secretary, said:
"Tory plans on health are big on rhetoric but low on genuine ideas. Patients and NHS staff will gain little from Tory hot air on health.
"The Tory plan to use public cash to pay for private operations is a gimmick in search of a blank cheque. Those people who already have private operations will be entitled to over £1billion of NHS money without a single extra operation to show for it.
"Tory chatter on NHS dentists is inadequate and will do little to relieve the crisis in the sector."
