Waiting time stats do not tell the whole truth

Waiting time statistics out today have been condemned by the Liberal Democrats as "convenient half truths spun by Labour".

Paul Burstow MP, Liberal Democrat Shadow Health Secretary, said:

"These waiting time statistics do not tell the whole truth. Ministers should come clean about the 'hidden waits' for scans and tests that patients have to endure before they even get on to the official waiting list.

"People deserve to know how long they will have to wait, not some convenient half-truths spun by Labour."
