Commenting on news that ambulance drivers on emergency calls will no longer be fined for going over the speed limit, Paul Burstow MP, Liberal Democrat Shadow Health Secretary, said:
"It beggars belief that the Government has for so long allowed a system that has wasted the valuable time of ambulance staff.
"It must raise questions about how many other daft regulations there are that tie the hands of healthcare professionals stopping them from getting on with the job of saving lives and caring for people.
