Hello and welcome to my website, which I hope you find both useful and informative. I am proud to be the MP for Sutton and Cheam and have been representing this constituency since 1997. About Paul

Paul voted London's hardest working MP

Paul was born and lives locally and has been MP for Sutton and Cheam since defeating the Conservative opponent in 1997.Paul has been a strong local voice for the area for many years, and before becoming MP was on Sutton Council from 1986 until 2002. Paul has campaigned for local issues for many years, and among his achievements include securing the £219 million needed to secure the future of St Helier Hospital.

Paul has also has an active parliamentary career - holding the positions of Shadow Secretary of State for Health, Shadow Minister for London and Chief Whip. In May 2010 he was made Minister of State (Care Services), Health.

Paul has an active interest in issues surrounding disability, older people and care issues.

Paul Burstow was named London's hardest working MP by the Evening Standard newspaper in January 2005. The paper also gave Paul a five out of five star rating for his work as an MP.
